Welcome to Steroids

Anabolic-androgenic steroids (also known as AAS) are chemically modified versions or derivatives of the male sex hormone, testosterone, produced naturally in both men and women.

Today, there are more than a hundred varieties of these medications, but only a few have been approved for human or veterinary use and require a prescription to purchase them for medicinal purposes.

Anabolic steroids are under the Anabolic Steroids Control Act of 1990 in Annex III of the Controlled Substances Act (CSA). These drugs, according to the legislation, are classified as drugs or hormonal substances that are chemically and pharmacologically related to testosterone (other than oestrogens, progestin, and corticosteroids) and have the potential to promote muscle growth.

Testosterone is produced solely by the testes in males and by other organs and tissues in females. The circulating level of this hormone in the blood in women is 10% lower than that of males. The male sex hormone that is naturally present circulates throughout the body and interacts with specific cell receptors to initiate a balanced development of male sexual characteristics such as hair, genitals, and masculine traits. Testosterone is also responsible for the proper functioning of many other organs and tissues of the body. All anabolic steroids, because of their chemical similarity to testosterone, have the potential to interact with cellular receptors and produce effects in all organs and tissues, including muscles, bones, bone marrow, blood vessels, brain, heart, liver, skin, hair, genitals, and reproductive organs.

Anabolic steroids have been used and where to buy trenbolone in australia for many decades by those in the sport and fitness industry. Anabolic steroids were first made available in 1930 when a team of scientists created a synthetic form of testosterone for men who were unable to produce enough of the hormone for balanced growth, normal development and sexual functioning.

During the second world war (1939-1945), it was found that this artificial form of the primary male sex hormone could help malnourished soldiers to gain weight and improve their performance.

Anabolic steroids are commonly used among Australian bodybuilders, athletes, and fitness fanatics who claim that these drugs give them a competitive advantage, promote a sense of well-being and invincibility, and improve their physical performance.

There may be peer pressure to use these drugs in some individual or team sports because of the “fear” or “hypothesis” that competing naturally will not be enough to succeed. Many others start using anabolic steroids with the perception that other athletes are using them and have an unfair advantage. The use of anabolic steroids may also be required by those with muscle dysmorphia or the perception of an abnormal body.

Steroids are used in medicine to treat health conditions like hypogonadism (a defect of the testes or ovaries), severe cases of osteoporosis, breast cancer in women, COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), some forms of anaemia (low red blood cell count), Klinefelter's syndrome (XXY), angioneurotic oedema (swelling in the deep layers of the skin), delayed puberty, and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) wasting syndrome.

Steroids may also be recommended for the treatment of severe burns, short stature, and prolonged catabolic state, secondary to long-term use of corticosteroids.

Using steroids to improve performance

In the last few decades, there has been an increase in the use of drugs and other substances in the name of performance improvement. The use of anabolic steroids is still common among athletes, both amateur and professional, even though at the global level, the state level, and among smaller communities, well-established anti-doping rules and initiatives apply to all areas of sport.

Anabolic-androgenic steroids are available for purchase and use in various forms depending on the type of administration, dose, and method of use. These drugs can be taken orally, through subcutaneous injections or intramuscularly, or in the form of tablets, nasal sprays, patches, and creams.

Cycling, pyramiding, and stacking are three popular ways in which steroids are taken in Australia.

Cycling refers to taking an anabolic steroid for a certain period of time and then stop use to allow the body to rest, and then resume use. Stacking refers to the use of more than one type of steroid with two or more steroids at a time to increase the effectiveness of each, while pyramiding combines the cycling and stacking with one or more anabolic steroids used initially in low doses and doses are increased gradually until half of the cycle when the gains are maximized and then reduced to zero until the end of the cycle.

Review of Steroids in Australia

Effects On Performance

The use of steroids leads to a drastic increase, homogeneous and quasi-permanent, in terms of mass, size, and muscle function. Steroids are also used to lose or gain weight and promote faster recovery after intense workouts or injuries. The use of these drugs is potent. It is also associated with improvements in body strength, endurance, ability to handle intense workouts, protein synthesis, nitrogen retention, the transport capacity of the blood, the oxygen level of the blood, the number of red blood cells, and on the field performance.

Anabolic-androgenic steroids are claimed to increase lean body mass, strength, and aggressiveness and reduce the recovery time between workouts. Thus, you will be able to train harder and further improve strength and endurance.

Effects On The Mind

Many studies have suggested that testosterone and anabolic steroids affect the functioning of the central nervous system (CNS). It was also revealed that many people, who self-administered doses that are considered high, tend to experience changes in mood, sexuality, and aggression during or after the use of these medications.

Anabolic steroids affect the neurotransmitter systems of serotonin and dopamine in the brain. Nandrolone, for example, can alter the response of the dopaminergic system to stimulants, while some androgenic compounds can directly activate the release of dopamine and serotonin in the brain. Extreme doses or the abuse of steroids can lead, in the long term, to programmed cell death in different cell types, including neurons, which can cause irreversible neurological changes. These drugs may also interfere with the normal development of circuits of aggression in the brain, and they can also induce biological and behavioral changes that can persist long after cessation of the use of anabolic steroids.

However, it is important to note that these changes generally become more prominent as doses are increased but do not occur uniformly among all the users of anabolic steroids in Australia.
